About the Book
The Simple Pumpkin book project was motivated by an opportunity to improve my understanding of what it means to be a photographer through a course that is being developed by Jon Fishback of the Photography Society of America (PSA).
One course goal is to develop a deliverable product covering a subject comprehensively. In this case, the product is a fine-art type book describing one member of the squash family, the pumpkin.
My aim is to share knowledge visually about growing pumpkins, their artistic value, and culinary uses.
The project became the start of a journey to learn what being a photographer involves. It was filled with surprising discoveries, adventure, and great fun.
