Twelve insightful lectures plus supplemental material on leadership initially created for the leaders, managers, and supervisors of a large community health center network in southern California. The author pulls from his nearly forty years of health care leadership experience to provide thought provoking leadership concepts, useful ideas and suggestions, and illuminating examples regarding leading, managing and supervising in the health care environment.
Dale Benson, MD, family physician and physician executive, most recently served as Vice President of Innovation, Quality, and Practice Management and Director of the Leadership Development Institute for AltaMed Health Services in Los Angeles. He was the founder, and for thirty years,the CEO of HealthNet, a large community health center network in Indianapolis. In addition in the late '90s, he was employed as a Vice President of the Mercy Health System in Chicago. He is Certified as a Physician Executive by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives. For 12 years he was also a field consultant and surveyor for The Joint Commission. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Physician Executives and served as the President of the College. He has also served as Chair of the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.
