About the Book
In this era of point and shoot cameras and smart phones, one is rarely without the means to capture unexpected moments. Impulsive Shots is a collection of the kind of unplanned gems from the occasional praying mantis in the backyard to zeppelins over midtown that result from a ready camera and the willingness to use it at any time. Through commentary that is by turns comical and informative, the reader is given a strong sense of what compelled the artist to make an image permanent. Rich Carriero's work attempts to show how anything can be beautiful, from a snow-covered mosque to a piece of broken glass, when viewed from the right angle.
