About the Book
Pacific Union College is located in the California Floristic Province where Mediterranean like climate favors the growth of diverse floral species. Within the 1600 acre lot, PUC is home to a wide variety of plant specious including redwoods. Climate is characterized by cold wet winters and hot dry summers with occasional cool summer days due to the marine fog that maintains the diverse plant species.
Here are descriptions and photos of 69 species from 34 families. All the flowers can be found with in the PUC's property as well as local areas of northern California. Each description includes an identification of whether it is a native or non-native species.
