About the Book
Set amidst a wilderness of forests, mountains, sea and forces of nature, Sointula on Malcolm Island radiates a sense of being on the frontier of the true Canadian west coast. Combined with its quixotic utopian history, it has a romanticism that any chamber of commerce would die for.
Paul taught photography at North Island College in Courtenay, B.C. for two decades and was the designer and coordinator of the college's Professional Photography Program. He has worked for over 20 years as a photojournalist specializing in editorial assignments for magazines and book publishers and has had photographs displayed in numerous international salons and west coast galleries.
