About the Book
To celebrate art and conservation, five decades after the initial effort to preserve Hells Canyon, the Josephy Center for Art and Culture created a residency program to produce art on an expedition through Snake River's spring flood waters. Boyd Norton, five additional photographers Jason Yale, Amy Gulick, Terry Donnelly, Rick McEwan, Kendrick Moholt and poet Cam Scott were provided the opportunity to run the river with Winding Waters River Expeditions. The Wilderness and Sublimity show exhibits the early work of Boyd Norton including famous photos that were shown to Senator Packwood, fine art photographic prints created in 2017 and poems written on the trip by Mr. Scott. One of North America's greatest natural treasures is free, wild and preserved for all generations. The Josephy Center now invites everyone to enjoy the art presented as a celebration of this great success story.
