About the Creator
Dominique van Olm is a Toronto based director and photographer. With a background in photography and fine art, she works within various levels of production; including commercial, documentary and independent. Dominique has directed online content for the Toronto Police, Orville Redenbacher and Intact Insurance. Her BFA thesis film, Flower Girl, screened at numerous festivals around the world and has gone on to win several awards including Best Director and Best Narrative at Living Skies Film Festival. Dominique is also a published photographer, having her work for architecture firm Housebrand showcased in Avenue Magazine. Dominique was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She completed a BFA in Film Production at Ryerson University School of Image Arts. At Ryerson, she received the Norman Jewison Award for excellence in filmmaking. She likes telling stories, riding her motorcycle and looking through the viewfinder of her Mamiya 645.
