About the Book
One of the best ways to cultivate man's appreciation of nature is to encourage his relationship with animals. "I Am a Bird" is a descriptive set of essays on how birds use their five senses and behaviors to survive in a rapidly shrinking world depriving them of their natural habitat. The book uses photographs of individual birds provided to elementary school students studying the Haiku form of poetry who were then asked, what might the bird be thinking. Based on the responses graphics depicting these poems were then created. “I Am a Bird” reminds us of the value of nature in our lives and encourages us to develop a better sense of responsibility to our environment.
