About the Book
In this project I have explored Birmingham from it's busy roads to its hidden side streets. I have discovered the true contrast in culture, architecture, design and age. I wanted to capture the city for how I see it - one of the most diverse in the country. I came across the beautiful colours and textures on the walls and buildings in Digbeth and the impressive, articulately designed library and museums in the city centre - all within a 20 minute walk from one another.
In this book, my concept is shown through the difference in images from each genre of documentary landscape: Urban, Derelict and Contemporary. This is because of the variety in vibrance, colour, detail and design.
I have also included some street photography, but at the same time, trying to follow my idea of diversity by capturing a variety of ethnicities and ages.
