Nigel Dickinson, has worked as a documentary photographer and photojournalist for 30 years. He is exhibited and published worldwide. His work focuses on the environment, human condition, sustainable development, identity and culture.

In 1992 he won the bronze award from UNEP at the Rio Earth Summit. His work on Mad Cow Crisis in the UK won a World Press award in 1997. In 2000 his work on Roma Gypsies across Europe won runner up in the Eugene Smith Award. In 2006 Meat was shortlisted for European Publishers award. In 2008 He won first prize feature award in the UK Press Photographers Year for his work on Smokey Mountain Rubbish Dump in Cambodia.

Two monographs have been published: ‘Hanging On By Your Fingernails’, about the Great Strike 1984/5 by Spokesman Press in 1987 and ‘Sara. Le pelerinage des gitans’ by Actes Sud in 2003
