I am a thirty-something writer and children's illustrator who graduated as a medical doctor but left the profession because I suffer from bipolar disorder, which made it difficult to practise.

I live in County Down with my husband, our two golden retrievers and two cats, and I enjoy walking - especially on the beach, music and catching up with my friends over a coffee.

I manage my own illness with help from a team of great professionals, not to mention my husband, and one of my goals is to help others - including children - understand the experience of those of us who do not always enjoy good mental health.
