James H. Ford Jr., a professor of English at Houston Community College and Texas Southern University, is also a writer and storyteller who blends both pathos and humor into his personal history and family stories. James' publications include, but are not limited to, "Johnson and the Red Bandana" (August House 1995), "Rational Blindness" (The Griot Journal 2016), Uncle Jasper and the Frog Shooing Stick (Blurb 2010), "Developing the Underdeveloped" (The Atrium: A Journal of Academic Voices 2014) and a number of poems published by Pomona Valley Review.
