About

Throughout his 30+ year career as an interdisciplinary artist, designer and pioneering web designer Toby Braun has produced thousands of images and photographs. His Floriography project builds on a rich history of experimental works, including Xerography, scanner art and diffusion transfer photos.

Toby has lectured on art and interactive design at The Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College (Chicago) and the prestigious Media Lab at MIT. His work has been featured in a wide variety of venues ranging from websites such as ProjectCool.com and EFF.org, as well as in magazines such as Entertainment Weekly, US News and World Report, Information Week and The Face.

Toby Braun is legally blind in his right eye, which means he's never experienced anything but colorful, fuzzy shapes from that eye. Lacking binocular vision, Toby perceives the world in only two dimensions. It was his fascination with his own visual limits that compelled him to pursue a career as an artist and designer.
