About the Book
Sea levels are rising and we are all responsible for it. Climate Change is caused by many small actions coming together and can be slowed down by just as many small acts fighting it.
The 11th Hour Project was created as the MA Major Project by Nele Winkelmann from October 2018 until August 2020 and focuses on the Causes and Effects of Climate Change.
Set around Auckland, New Zealand the series of digital photographs focus on visualising the reality of rising sea levels for the Auckland region.
The 24 image series envisions the future of a city sinking below the surface by merging colourful underwater images with well known city sights. Through the use of digital technologies and multi layering The 11th Hour creates surrealistic scenes set all across town and illustrates the importance of climate awareness through intriguing images waiting to be explored.
