About the Book
The rise of the Cyberpunk genre seems to correlate with a dystopian future that we all dread. But many scenes in Taipei suggest that we are already living in that world. Taiwanese people live under mass government surveillance, rigid power structures, and the ever-present threat of war. The buildings look more like prisons than homes, and the often gloomy weather seems to entrap people further into this depressing industrialized world.
While the photos in this series are full of vibrant colors that inspire artists and photographers, they also serve as a reminder that one person's heaven is another's hell. Hopefully people that view these photos will be prompted towards awareness of whatever is needed to push them towards creating positive change.
