About the Creator
Active in the TV-Film industry since 1996, Denis McCready is an award-winning documentary film producer. He has organized shoots all over the world, delivering TV shows and one-off documentaries to major broadcasters like National Geographic, Discovery, History, Arte, NHK, CBC and Radio-Canada. An accomplished writer and blogger, Denis McCready won 2nd prize at the CBC SHORT STORY AWARDS (French network) in 2004 for a travel story depicting his journey through post-war Bosnia. Since picking up his first camera in 1984, his photo work has focused mostly on portrait and documentary, in addition to being the set photographer for many of his film productions. His first major exhibit was held at Galerie arteVISTA in the BELGO CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRE in Montréal in December 2001. After living in Montreal all his life, he moved to Toronto in 2018 to work for the NFB where he is the executive producer of the Studio de la francophonie canadienne.
