About the Book
Mr. Congrigins of the Congrigins estate travels all over the universe in search of… well he isn’t quite sure. He only knows that everyone wants a story about his journeys. When Mr. Congrigins comes across the world of Midorland, he finds a story that will help spark some thought in the people of his home world, or at least he hopes. Told from an unreliable narrator in the form of historical articles and storybook fashion, we follow the history of Midorland and its infamous hero: Layou the Dawn.
Layou came to the world of Midorland, claiming to have heard the cries of the people who were oppressed and enslaved by the great and powerful Merchant Families. Gathering forces to retaliate and reclaim their homeland for the future, Layou becomes a hero in the people’s eyes, some even claim him to be a great ocean spirit. But can this hero be trusted? When Layou eventually falls ill and dies, a dark past reveals itself leaving the people of Midorland split on what to believe in. Can the people of Midorland look past Layou’s atrocities, or will he be forgotten and denounced for the rest of time?
