About the Creator
Lisa Sheirer is a visual artist, living and working in Frederick, Maryland. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Printmaking from West Virginia University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from The University of Notre Dame. Ms. Sheirer has been creating artwork for over 40 years. Lisa works in a variety of mediums. Pixels, clay, inks, paint, pulp painting, wood, glass, found objects, and cast metals, are among the different materials she uses. Natural flora and fauna have been the base concepts for Lisa’s work over the last 20 years. She has an active social media accounting of plant life through he seasons in the Catoctin mountains. Plants are documented using photography and citizen scientific research. Lisa’s public art projects include a ceramic mural at Baltimore Washington International Airport commissioned by the Maryland Department of Transportation and a glass mural installed in the new Western MD Health System lobby.
