About the Book
Our tree friends are the sentinels of our planet. Their branches draw down moisture, sun, and starlight from the cosmos. Their roots draw up nutrients and centuries-old stories from the soil. We are inextricably connected and cannot live without them, as they inhale carbon dioxide, offering back oxygen for our every next breath. But they are not a limitless resource. Trees are sacred in most every culture and religion in the world, taking root in our soul through mythology. Their branches, trunks, roots, connect us with heaven and earth –– as above, so below. Trees are symbols of resilience and hope.

Lisa is a spiritual companion/guide, healer, interfaith chaplain and contemplative photographer. She incorporates creative, sacred, and healing arts, along with her lived experience and prophetic wisdom into her private practice as well as her private life. Lisa has past experience with marketing, communications, events and operations in corporate, entrepreneurial, and non-profit startup organizations. In whatever capacity she serves, she is informed by her convictions that everything is sacred, that we are all interconnected, that we can heal ourselves, and that beauty is medicine. Her dharma includes her spiritual counseling practice, facilitating Beauty as Medicine Workshops, and guest faculty at The Chaplaincy Institute, and co-hosting the East-West online Death Cafe. Lisa currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her two feline companions, Richie and Margot.
