    About the Book

    Edit

Salt Lake City to San Francisco on a 1978 “barn-find” Yamaha XT500 motorcycle. Retracing the path of old gold and silver prospectors along US Route 50 - also known as 'The Loneliest Road in America'.

A heartfelt road-trip tale, After the Gold Rush begins with a crazy idea and becomes a journey through deserts, ghost towns, mechanical mishaps, friendships, and the unexpected kindness of strangers.

Nigel Saxon is a writer and lifelong motorcyclist who recently semi-retired from a corporate career spanning logistics and marketing. This shift has allowed him time to fully pursue his three enduring passions: motorcycling, writing, and travel. He first rode a motorcycle at the age of nine, inspired by his Triton riding father, and has been riding ever since. Touring on a wide variety of motorcycles has taken him across France, Italy, Spain, India, Nepal, Mexico, and the United States. His writing endeavours to capture the sights, sounds, and smells of memorable moments on the road - experiences that too often disappear into a forgotten photo roll if they’re not written down. His recent work has been published in leading motorcycle magazines including Classic Bike, Kickback, Adventure Bike Rider, and Motorcycle Sport & Leisure.
