About the Book
Three generations of grandmas—Hattie Gustafson, Helen Gustafson, and Joyce Gustafson Crawford—all loved to cook. The legacy of their favorite recipes—previously contained in boxes of loosely organized notecards and clippings, handwritten and typed, legible and not—have now been lovingly transcribed, edited, and gathered into this little gem of a collection. The hope is that anyone may now share the Gustafson grandmas’ enthusiasm for creative time in the kitchen, their satisfaction in presenting meals made from the heart, and the ultimate joy that comes from dishes bearing that most comforting of all culinary traits: “Just like Grandma used to make.”

I'm a fellow lucky enough to have relatives and friends who value their family's history, as well as understanding how valuable their own life experiences might be to their descendants. Over the years, I have compiled and edited a number of their memoirs (and now a recipe collection!) into book form, using traditional desktop publishing applications and printing procedures. I hope one day to compile my own collection of stories about my career in the theater, film and tv studios, and "on location."
