About the Book
A look at 200 wildly varied street lamps that light the way in front of various homes and businesses (and a church or two) in San Miguel de Allende, an artistic UNESCO World Heritage Site in the mountainous Bajio region of central Mexico. Along with the lamps, many of the photos in this collection include architectural details of the buildings around them, giving the reader a kaleidoscopic impression of San Miguel as well. While they run the gamut from over-the-top ornate to elegant simplicity (with a few stops in between), these lamps express the individuality of those who live or work behind them as well as the creativity of those who made them.
