About

Caroline Allen recently retired from UCSB’s College of Creative Studies. She has taught everything from Chaucer’s *Troilus and Criseyde* through Alison Bechdel’s *Fun Home*. She is a painter, writer, collagist, cartoonist, and illustrator. She’s also working on a memoir, *Blame it On the Music*, about her years living in L.A. with a punk rock drummer. Her favorite things to do are travel, make art, cook meals for friends, read great books, and listen to music. Caroline lives on a two acre art compound in California with her husband Bob and three chihuahuas.

Kay Young is a writer and teacher of Jane Austen, George Eliot, Comedy, and the Meaning of Life at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is the author of *Ordinary Pleasures* and *Imagining Minds*. Kay lives in Southern California with her Jeppe and murals of Italy, dreaming of lasagna and journeys to places she doesn’t know and to people that she does—most especially to her dashing son Dash and his beautiful Carly.
