Wonderpress is an Ottawa-based publishing shingle. Owner Amanda Sage launched it in 2008 to begin releasing her first three children’s books—Dinostory, Astrorocket and Zootopia—each inspired by her three nephews. Since then, Wonderpress has expanded into online publishing with the website KickassCanadians.ca. Through that initiative, the shingle released the 2013 limited edition photobook WIDE OPEN: A Canadian Perspective, with all proceeds going to CARE Canada. Wonderpress released its fourth children’s book, Now That I’m Here, in 2016, as a tribute to Kate Drury, a young Ottawa girl who passed away from mitochondrial disease. In her honour, all profits from Now That I’m Here go to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. All Wonderpress children's books are available in English and French.
