About the Book
Positive Light is the first project of Crowdsourced Travel, a social enterprise that uses crowdsourced travel media to change the way travellers see the world’s destinations.
Portraits of Bangladesh is our trade-sized version of the full Positive Light project, listed here:
http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3714942
At a ground level, we source and fund media producers such as photographers, travel writers and filmmakers to share their visions with the world, visions that communicate the beauty, soul and stories of their home countries.
The project attracted the support of over 130 photographers, all of whom contributed 700 images to the project in a 45 day span. It also raised funds via peerfunding website StartSomeGood.com to support the production and printing of these materials.
Bangladesh deserves better treatment in the world’s eye. This book is a strong and clear message that the country is made of a spirit that we believe will one day defy the odds. We hope the photographs in this book reveal for you the beauty of this nation as powerfully as it has for us.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of our title sponsor the British Council, our sponsors, and the supporters of the Crowdsourced Travel project.
