About the Book
This book is a tribute to the design of music packaging and artwork. It takes inspiration from one of the most famous album covers, Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon.’
The title ‘Jewel’ is taken from the name of CD cases, and it also describes a time when the act of buying music seemed more special. This project is a statement about the decline in physical music packaging, and the move towards digital downloads. For me, this has distracted greatly from the experience of buying music.
