About the Book
In June 2009 a group of students from San Diego City College began a tour of NYC with the direction of Dave Eichinger the "professor". This was an eclectic group of students ranging from ages of retirement to just graduating from High School. The cameras were just as eclectic.....toy cameras, analog, digital, High End DSLR's with all the bells and whistles. We hiked around the city for hours a day seeing NYC through the eye of the viewfinder. With gentle pushing from Dave to see things from outside of the viewfinder or from a different angle. When we returned to San Diego a week later the real "work" began with Digital Darkroom, Photoshop Editing and Printing/matting. At the end of the summer we turned in our Final 10 for inspection and grading.
But that wasn't the end for Tina and I when Dave tapped our shoulder and asked if we would create this book. We instantly said yes but we were not prepared for the amount of work it would entail. We have spent many hours finalizing this book and we are very proud of it. We both have learned a tremendous amount from the NYC trip. We thought it was going to be just a summer but turned into a six month learning experience.
Thank You from both of us.

After flying for many years I needed something more stimulating that "Coffee, orange juice or tea?" Photography has awoken a artistic passion that I never knew was there. I get to combine photos with the geek of Photoshop. Perfect world for me.
