About the Creator
In the 1980's to the 1990's; I became part of the urban poetry scene by becoming a member of both Blackscribe; Manchester's first Black women's poetry group and then 'Niailha. Whist I was with Blackscribe' and 'Niailha', our groups held workshops and performed at events i.e., 'World Aids Day/Women's Week/ and events.. I have performed in Community Centers, Schools, Manchester University, The Green Room and Church Halls; in Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Northern Ireland. Years later, I have; took up the pen again and have become the Captain of my own destiny, that allows my poetry/writing to become decks, while my words, a compass guiding me on an adventure to showcase my work, to many a traveler who chooses to come on board. Allowing them to judge for themselves.
