About the Book
In September 2008, I made my first trip to Africa as part of a Consulting Team in Namibia. I was fortunate to experience the colours and vista of the African landscape.
The photographs in this second volume in the series Discovering Photography were shot during the period from September to December 2008 in between my assignments. It was the end of the winter months when the land was being transformed from parched grassland to green pastures. The oncoming summer brought rain, colour and life to the changing landscape. 'Colours of Africa' is my attempt and challenge to capture the beautiful African sunset, the silence of the dunes and the call of the wild with my camera during this period.
This 120-page book is divided into three sections and contain more than 100 photographs, including those shot at Cape Town, South Africa: Section One - Choice Prints From The Gallery; Section Two - The Great African Vista; and Section Three - Flora & Call Of The Wild.
Absorb the beauty of nature and the landscape, witness the massive destruction of land by human activity in the mines. wonder at the fate of the sunken vessel along the Atlantic coast and feel the plight of the lost pup at the seal colony. I have left the captions minimal, preferring to let these powerful images speak for themselves. I hope you will enjoy this second volume as much as I have enjoyed putting it together for you.

I enjoy travel photography and often join photography trips for greater exposure. A photo book is a great alternative display medium. I have quite a few of these and hope you enjoy viewing them.
