I am an IT project manager who has recently taken up genealogy research. I enjoy researching my family histories & creating books that my family can enjoy. My most recent book is "The Bonfield Landrys". It is the story of my mother's father's family - focusing on her paternal grandparents, Cyprien & Henrietta Landry & their 16 children. It includes not only the family trees of each of their 16 children, but it also explains how the first Landry, Rene le jeune Landry, came to Nova Scotia in the mid 1600's. It outlines how the family was impacted by the Expulsion of the Acadians & how our other ancestors settled Quebec. You'll read about how specific ancestors cleared the land, built homes, made families & along the way, were killed by the natives, died in childbirth & rose to become seigneurs. Our ancestors played an important role in the settlement of this country & it something we should be proud of. We're a pretty impressive bunch.
