About
I was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1950, grew up there when it was a much slower place to live. As a child, I spent a lot of time in the bush (woods) and developed a love for the outdoors and plants in particular. I have been working as a consultant botanist since 1988, mostly in Western Australia.
2004 was the first time I had been overseas, to present a research paper based on my PhD in Rhodes Island, Greece. In that first tip I went to Scotland, Greece, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and briefly England. Halfway through that trip I decided that I liked traveling a lot and have been doing it as much as possible since then.
Other countries I have traveled through are: Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Finland, France, Germany, Laos, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Russia, Siberia, Svalbard, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
Since 2020 I have been assisting as a tour guide at Tozer’s Bush Camp near Bremer Bay, showing off the 75 species of orchids found on his property.
