About

Florian was born in 1976. He first began taking photographs with 8 years. More seriously he began with 12 years when he frequently modified the parental bathroom to his first darkroom. All knowledge about camera and darkroom technique he learnt autodidactic.

Between 2002 and 2005 Florian took up the m-Art photo course which he finished with a diploma. The course treated topics like landscape- or travelphotography. But also less accesible subjects like portrait or studio work. An exhibition (»pledsWORTEmotsparole) as well as the diploma work (»Portfolio) were part of this course.

Since then he commited himself fully to the classic analog b&w photography. Moved by timless work of Ansel Adams, Andreas Weidner or Michael Kenna, Florian is specially fascinated by the slowness and awareness of the analog way. Consistent use of the zone system and to master the full grayscale is a must in all stages of the process.
