About

I define myself as a "Landscape Storyteller." Landscape storytelling is "the conveying of thoughts and feelings in words and images by capturing nature without embellishment." I believe there is wisdom in pictures, and I dedicate my photography to sharing that wisdom with the world. My joy comes from color and symmetry and when it all just fits together!

I live in the Sierra foothills near Lake Tahoe with my wife, Heather, and I have a daughter attending UC Santa Cruz. They have a tremendous influence on my ability to look for the positive and to ask, "why?"

I use a minimal amount of gear - usually one camera and one or two lenses. I believe the simple solution is the best solution. I shoot in RAW format - always - and I mainly use Adobe LightRoom for processing with an occasional foray over to Photoshop for the tricky problems.
