As an artist, I investigate the female figure in a raw and gestural manner. I am interested in portraying the body in an abstract and distorted manner for visual and conceptual purposes, challenging society’s view on feminine beauty. I explore the physicality of materials and mark-making in relation to the gesture of the figure. I blend suggestive and more finished components, as well as layers, to establish a sense of vulnerability and roughness.
