About
Dave Foss is a New York–based fine art photographer whose work is rooted in natural light, real locations, and the unpredictable moments that happen in between.
For more than fifty years, he has photographed people in abandoned buildings, industrial spaces, beaches, streets, forests, and small forgotten corners of the Northeast — allowing the location, weather, light, and collaboration with the model to shape the image naturally.
Working instinctively rather than through heavily staged productions, Foss creates photographs that balance atmosphere, intimacy, humor, vulnerability, and a strong sense of place, often blurring the line between documentary and fine art photography.
His work is frequently presented in self-published books and magazines that combine images with the stories behind them.
