Lynne Meyer has been an active parishioner of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in East Haddam, CT since 1960. She is a former kindergarten and junior high school teacher in that town and also a former teacher and chairman of the board of the former St. Stephen's Christian Nursery School. Lynne retired at the end of 2009 after 30 years as a senior technical writer of jet engine manuals. In her retirement, she is thoroughly enjoying her volunteer work in maximum security at York Correctional Institution for women in Niantic, CT. Since the year 2000, she has knit approximately 500 sweaters for needy children throughout the world. For 51 years, Lynne has been married to her husband, James, a retired biology teacher, professional bird carver, hospice volunteer, and a lay reader and chalice bearer at St. Stephen's. For more than 20 years, the couple have been non-resident members of the ecumenical Community of Jesus in Orleans, MA on Cape Cod.
