Fred is a 1965 graduate of Oregon State University who worked the next 40 years in the pulp nd paper industry. He started out as an engineer at West Linn, Oregon and finished it as Vice President & Manager at Albany, Oregon. He developed several new processes in recycle fiber pulping and paper manufacturing that greatly advanced the use of Recycled Fibers in containerboard paper in America.
After retirement he devoted his efforts towards improving mental health care for juvenals and young adolescents and held a variety of positions on the Board of Directors of Trillium who operate three large in-patient facilities for a wide spectrum of mental health needs, including the most severely afflicted children in the State of Oregon. Fred helped them attain financial health to allow the organization to continue providing high quality mental health treatment.
