I'm a visual artist and sell my artwork on-line at GrantviewStudio.com. I also share musings on my website blog at StraddleTheTurtle.com.

Areas of Expertise

I’m handy with a variety of art supplies (oil, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, ink). I use whatever it takes to express my ideas. I enjoy discovering where notions take me - happy to invent new scenarios along the way. My ideas come from listening and observing, and they manifest as landscapes, portraits, abstract designs, cartoons, various subjects…but are always symbolic of deeper feelings.

Professional Affiliations

I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in 1989, and afterward pursued printmaking techniques at the University of Wisconsin. In 2014 I trained with the Alzheimers Association to learn how to facilitate their “Memories in the Making” program. The interactions I had with people suffering with dementia freed up a level of creativity in me that opened a playful experimentation. After all my years of working at my craft, now I just want to enjoy it, and I do!
