Heather Bishop is a singer-songwriter, social activist, keynote speaker, visual artist and tradeswoman. Heather was awarded the Order of Canada in 2005 and the Order of Manitoba in 2001. A talented musician, Heather has released 14 acclaimed folk and children’s albums, winning JUNO nominations, Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards, and NAPPA Awards. Her latest CD, released in the spring of 2009, is entitled my face is a map of my time here.

Highly admired for her social activism, she has championed women’s rights and the environment, and has spoken out against racism and homophobia. She also helped to develop and teach one of the country’s first pre-trades training for women courses at Red River College.

Heather Bishop has always lived her belief that when she gives voice to the truth in her own life, it strikes a chord in other people's lives as well.
