I worked in NYC my entire adult life. I loved it. However, on September 11, 2001 my life changed as did so many others. While I watched the Towers burn and eventually fall, all I could think about was getting home to my family - my husband John, a Kearny Firefighter, and my two children, Shannon, 3 and Danny, 1. I decided that day I would quit my job and stay home with my children.
A few years later, while helping my children with their homework, my daughter asked me a question that changed my life. She asked, "Mommy, what do you want to be when you grow up?" At that moment I realized I could have a do-over and I was taking it. I decided to follow my passion. I see the world in words and pictures - always have - always will. Now, I can finally answer my daughter's question. When I grow up I am going to be an author!
