About
I am a photographer living in Washington DC and New York. I'm interested in the uncanny and the beautiful in the everyday.
I use all sorts of cameras, both digital and manual. My preferred is the 4x5 view camera. With the large-format 4x5 view camera I can manipulate perspective and focus to enhance meaning. The lengthy set-up of each shot allows me to look with intensity. A spoon, a ceiling, a boy in bed-- with the view camera I have time to see how strange and beautiful they can be.
I also use medium format and 35mm cameras in both digital and film, to capture fleeting events that are lovely, haunting, or hilarious. I print my photographs myself, in the darkroom and on digital printers. My work has shown at galleries in New York and Washington DC.
