Sharon Guy is a painter with a passion for wild places and the creatures that reside there. Her landscapes are vibrant, luminous, and serene. Her art lures the viewer into a peaceful, timeless world. She began studying fine art at the age of sixteen at Simon’s Rock College in Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in art from Bard College in New York in 1981. While growing up in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, she enjoyed hiking in the Appalachian Mountains and visiting the nearby Catskills, Adirondacks, and the Hudson River area. She was influenced by the Hudson River Artists who had painted those scenic vistas a century before. Her artwork expresses the serene beauty of nature and animals with strong design, expressive lines, and vibrant colors. Currently residing in Southwest Florida, she is intrigued by the intense colors and dramatic skies of the southeast. Sharon travels to her beloved Appalachian Mountains to paint the deep forests and
mountain streams.
