"I'm thrilled to support my 87-year-old mother, Polly Spessard Cooper, in publishing her memoir, Out of the Box to Dance to My Song. She has enthusiastically devoted the past ten years to writing and remembering her fascinating life stories about how she learned to creatively live 'outside the box' and to follow the call of her own hero's journey. She also lovingly pays tribute to the real-life heroes of her life: her ancestors, parents, sister, late husband, other family members, dear friends, and mentors.
