      About the Book

      Edit

The best time for oversharing is late at night when no one is around to hear it, so an inquisitive young boy and his favourite stuffed bunny unpack all their secrets by the light of the moon. When the boy questions Bunny about the origin of his injured eye, he inadvertently learns the truth about where monsters come from.

The Monster Factory is a metaphor for one of society’s best kept secrets: the horrors of animal testing, where monsters are not found—they are created, and although monsters may be hard to love, they are the ones who need it the most. Bunny brings readers close to the suffering to gain deeper insight into the ethical issues that monsters face, and to help put an end to their exploitation. Each narrative maintains an underlying message of kindness and compassion, and reveals how the creators are often more monstrous than the monsters themselves.
