    About the Book

    Edit

Jack Harris is a graphic designer and illustrator living in the New York suburbs. He teaches graphic design and is a sometime author. He is fascinated by what makes some of us more human than others and by what “Being Human” really means. This visual essay explores those questions in a vibrant, graphic approach that illuminates the humanness of some good, some bad and some just plain ugly characters.

I am a faculty member at Farmingdale State College in Visual Communications and taught both illustration and design at The University of Delaware and The Delaware College of Art and Design. I have written about Andrew Loomis (Illustration Magazine, Issue Twenty, www.illustration-magazine.com) Vincent Di Fate and co-authored a book with Steven Withrow for Rotovsion: A Master Class in Vector Illustration. With a special interest in graphic storytelling such as children’s picture books, comic books and graphic novels, I have nurtured a healthy inner child who still collects comic books and isn’t afraid to say so. I hope this child-like joy is apparent in my work as well. I have a wife (also a designer), a daughter in Manhattan who works in Fashion. My son is a talented writer and aspiring
