Empty Space

Neither here nor there,
in emptiness
space unsettles,
interrupting continuity.
Mostly we pass by
without seeing
for it offers nothing to desire, to possess.
But when we do notice,
it draws us in
and consume us;
no longer a meaningless void awaiting identity,
but a disturbing challenge to the order of things.
