About the Book
CODA was created in the Fall of 2020, for the exhibition “On the Brink of Borrowed Time: To Stay / To Flee”. In this exhibition 12 visual artists were invited to dialogue with 12 writers. Ka-sing decided to use BOOK as a medium for the work. It was a response to Leung Ping-kwan’s poem “Cloud Travel” written in 1981. Organized by The House of Hong Kong Literature, the event was taken place at the Pao Galleries of the Hong Kong Arts Centre from October 30 to December 6, 2020.
In this second edition, basically all elements of the original publication were retained. In addition, it also included an article on CODA (published at DOUBLE DOUBLE, issue 1030-2020) written by Holly Lee.
Ocean Pounds is a platform for a number of art-driven projects, founded in 1995 (Hong Kong) by photo-based artists Holly Lee and Lee Ka-sing, headquartered in Toronto since 2000. Ocean Pounds is also a primo spot to acquire Holly and Ka-sing’s work - from the very recent to vintages dated back to late 70’s. Furthermore, it acts adequately as a venue to locate fine art pieces from their past organized projects (Gallery, Representation, Print Program), with work from prominent artists notably Nobuyoshi Araki, Christopher Doyle, Yau Leung and Yao Jui-chung.
