    John Stirzaker has been a photographer for over 30 years, and has worked in virtually every aspect of the art. For the last few years he has been the main photographer for the 123-year old weekly brass band magazine The British Bandsman. Working closely with editor Kenny Crookson, John has covered most of the major brass events of recent times. His work has been used on numerous cd and DVD covers, and some of his work will be used in an upcoming BBC documentary about brass banding, due to be screened in early 2010.He also has a keen professional interest in Britain’s canal system, as well as a love of Steam Railways. In 2010 he intends to produce a book of railway photographs. In January 2010 he started to walk the Cheshire Ring Canal System, which he is undertaking with his partner Sue. A guidebook of this project should be available towards the end of the year.
