About the Book
The authors of this document are students and faculty at the University of Arizona’s College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture. This group dedicated a semester to studying how design could be used to more innovatively present a health and wellbeing focus at a future world’s fair. They traveled to Minnesota to visit historic and cultural sites and talk to those involved in organizing Expo 2027 and in the design of the Twin Cities to gain perspective on the history of the locale, the bidding process for hosting an international exposition, the goals for a future world’s fair in Minnesota, the conditions of the main potential site for the fairgrounds, and the role health care has played and continues to play in the Twin Cities, in order to inform and inspire appropriate designs and exhibits that encourage health and wellbeing at Expo 2027.
