      About the Book

      Edit

Maryborough, a city of almost 27,000 people, is located on the Mary River within the Fraser Coast region of Southeast Queensland. It is 255km north of Queensland’s capital city of Brisbane. Coupled with Hervey Bay, Maryborough forms the Fraser Coast Local Government Area. In fact, Maryborough is dominated by Hervey Bay which is twice the size. Together with Gympie and Bundaberg, these two cities are a part of the Wide Bay Burnett Region.
Maryborough promotes itself as a heritage city and it was the heritage-listed buildings and historical focus which attracted us to the city. Our photo book provides 45 photographs and related descriptions. The photographs focus on the Queensland heritage-listed buildings, Queens Park with its attractions such as the war memorials, bandstand and nearby Mary River, Queensland's first steam locomotive the “Mary Ann” and its replica, and the site of the original township.
This photo book which celebrates Maryborough’s heritage would make a fine coffee table book.
The photo book is a standard landscape format (25 by 20 centimetres; 10 by 8 inches).

Graham For over 30 years I have enjoyed a career in International Development Assistance as an adviser, team leader, program/project manager, proposal/tender manager and writer and independent consultant. The most satisfaction was derived from the analytical, strategic and writing dimensions of program management and proposal/tender writing. I find that I use these skills in researching, planning and undertaking our travels and subsequently writing the associated Books. I am also hooked on the process of self-publishing eBooks to Amazon and Smashwords and now printed books to Blurb. Katherine For the past 10 years I was engrossed in my role as a manager of a substantial International English Language Testing (IELTS) centre. Prior to that I was an English language teacher. I enjoy travelling, observing different cultures, delving into history and researching our books.
